Baseball Finals Tonight!

Posted by John Campo at Jun 15, 2005 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
Here are the 11-12 Tournament Final Round and Consolation Round Match-ups for tonight: Final Round 3 – Thursday, June 16, 2005, Game Time 6:05 Kelly #2 – Red Sox at Braves Consolation Round - Thursday, June 16, 2005, Game Time 6:05 Kelly #1 - Yankees at Blue Jays Both games are sold out! Please be aware of the revised curfew time in effect for the playoffs. The curfew will extend to 8pm for all non-Kelly #2 fields. Kelly #2 curfew will remain the same (9pm) but Kelly #2 games will start at 6:05 like the other fields. Remember, the curfew rule is applied as no new inning should begin after the curfew time. Please use fair judgment here. Trophies will be placed at each field.
Here is the format of the 2005 11-12 Baseball All-Star Game: Date: Monday, June 20 Time: 6:05 Field: Kelly #1 Curfew: No new inning after 8pm Since there are an odd (7) number of teams in the league, I had originally planned to place 2 players from each team to each all-star team. Since that time, I decided not to do this because I did not want to break up teammates and I did not want to deal with who plays for which team. So, Teams will be divided according to American League and National League. Lonnie (Braves) will manage the National League and Steve Avery (Jays) will manage the American League (in PJ’s place). I am not too concerned that the American League has more players since only 9 can play the field at any given time. However, since there are only 15 shirts per team and the American League could have up to 16 players (4 teams times 4 players) if they all show, either 1) the sixteenth American League player will have to wear the other color shirt, or 2) Steve and Lonnie and the kids can decide who wants to play for the other side. You guys decide that one – my term as commissioner is almost over!!! Other notes: 1. The American League will wear red shirts (since my kid already wore his to school!) and the National League will wear blue shirts. The available sizes are AM and AL. Make sure the smaller kids get AM so the bigger kids can get AL. 2. There will be a 1 inning pitching limit per kid. All other regular season rules apply. 3. Steve Bryant will have the option to serve as an American League coach if he is available. Tom Lipka and Jeff Kirkpatrick will have the option to serve as National Leagues coaches if they are available. The managers (Lonnie and Steve) will select remaining coaches and assistants from within their leagues. 4. If possible, it would be neat to call the players out before the game to line up on the first base and third base lines. Remember to have fun with this and don’t take this game too seriously – we’ve made it this far!
Two teams advanced to the final round of the 11-12 tournament playoffs. As the temperatures rose, the action heated up. The Red Sox upset the favorite Jays. The Braves held off the dangerous Yanks.
