TITANS FALL SELECT (13) GETS UNDER WAY……………

Posted by Henry Gomez on Sep 28 2004 at 05:00PM PDT

The K.C. Titans (13) got off to an admirable start last weekend in Brookshire, Tx. The team was involved in a USSSA tournament hosted by the Brookshire Katy Baseball Association. The remnants of Hurricane Ivan could have played havoc with the weather, but it never really became a factor.

The Titans made a good showing their first time out of the chute by going 2 – 2 against some fairly stiff competition. Teams played included the Houston Gators (16-4W), The Texas Roadrunners (5-3W) and the Texas Warriors (2-1L/9-2L). The first game saw a total of 16 hits spread throughout the line-up. Opposing pitchers were a little stingier in the next 3 contests allowing a total of only 12 hits.

Titans pitching was a bright spot in the tournament with workmanlike performances given by Kirby Taylor, Paul Bettis and Parker Wisenbaker. Coaches Winner and Ozuna felt the team exceeded all expectations for a “trial run”!

GO TITANS!!!!!!!!!!
