FLANAGAN Ranked #8 by Baseball America

Posted by Joe Chacko on Feb 21 2006 at 04:00PM PST
DURHAM, N.C.—Russell County High (Seale, Ala.) ended 2005 as the nation's No. 1 team in the Baseball America/National High School Baseball Coaches Association Top 50 and begins 2006 in the same spot. The Warriors went 38-1 last year, claiming Alabama's Class 5-A championship, and are again well stocked with pitching depth and a talented lineup. Monsignor Pace High (Opa Locka, Fla.) begins the year ranked No. 2 and the top team in the state of Florida. No. 3 El Camino Real High (Woodland Hills, Calif.) and No. 4 Agoura (Calif.) High open the season as the top two teams in the nation's deepest state for high school baseball in 2006. Ten California schools are featured in the preseason poll. The staff of Baseball America, the National High School Baseball Coaches Association and a national ranking committee of coaches from across the country determine the Top 50 rankings. In-season polls are conducted every other week, with the final poll released June 12. Records indicated are team's 2005 final records and do not include ties. Capsules for all 50 teams can be viewed by Baseball America subscribers later this week. Rank Team (2005 Record) Final 2005 Rank 1.Russell County HS, Seale, Ala.
