Westford Over-30 Slow-Pitch Softball

With an 18-8 win in the night cap, Willis Tent took a 2-0 series victory over defending champion Healy Oil to move on to a second round matchup against Drew Farms. The series will start on Friday night, August 24, at 6:30 PM.

In the first game of the evening, Z's Sport Shop posted a 3 run sixth inning and then hung on for a 7-5 victory that extended their series against Short Cut to a deciding third game. This game will be played at 6:30 on Wednesday (8/22). NOTE- this is a change from the originally scheduled time of 7:45. The winner will move on to face the #1 seed Mustangs on Friday at 7:45.

The full second round schedule will be posted once an opponent is determined. The Willis-Drew's schedule can be found in the calendar.

Two exciting finishes marked the opening of the 2007 Playoffs.

In the first game of the night, Healy Oil tied the game in the top of the seventh, only to see Willis Tent push the winning run across in the bottom of the inning.

After watching that finish, Z's Sport Shop and Short Cut set out to top that game. 11 innings later, Short Cut finally ended the marathon to go up one game in this series.

Both Healy Oil and Z's Sport Shop, who between them hold the last four playoff titles, need to win on Tuesday to extend their series. Game times are as follows:

The final game of the regular season between Willis Tent and Floral Arts has been cancelled, as has the 7:45 game between Z's Sports Shop and Drew Farms.

With a victory over Short Cut on Wednesday evening, Willis Tent has claimed the #3 seed to finalize the playoff seeds. The first round of the playoffs will be played as follows:

As the league approaches the last week of the season, schedule changes abound. On Friday, August 10, both the 7:45 game (Healy Oil v. Z's Sports Shop) and the 9 PM game (Short Cut v. Mario's Restaurant) have been cancelled.

In addition, a full slate of make up games is scheduled for Sunday, August 12.
