The Ely race will be happening at Giant's Ridge due to a loss of snow up here. We are in the freezing rain belt these days. Giant's Ridge has plenty of snow in the woods as they received much more than we did this last week. They have tracks set and it's good enough for good skis. So, after much ado here is the final plan:
Place: Giant's Ridge - park your buses behind the Lodge parking lot (the lot nearest the road that we use for Sections and State). If this fills up then use the south parking lot at the far opposite end by the Burnt Onion (beginning of Oslo trail).
Time: 11:00- start order will be Boy's varsity, Girls varsity, Boy's JV, Girls JV, Boys J.High, Girls J.High
Technique: John preferred classic as his stadium isn't set up yet and he has to move big piles of man-made snow around.
Course: We will use the M.E. Invite/State Meet course as it's in really good shape; Junior High will go up the Gold, down the Cedar but instead of the hairpin will go straight on home to the stadium. Varsity/JV will be 5 K, J. High 3 K.
Trail passes: competitors don't need Giant's Ridge trail passes and coaches ski for free. Everyone else needs a trail pass.
Coaches' Meeting: 10:00 in the timing building.

Ely will make a decision on skate or classic on Thursday. Stay tuned... The race will start with the boy's varsity at 11:00. Our bus will leave East at 7:00 a.m. We will have a team dinner on Friday and for those that want to wax skis at Snowflake we will be starting that at about 4:30 on Friday as well. Check the phone line for last minute information.
Our Toko Rep, Mike Lundeen, will be doing a TOKO SPECIFIC wax clinic @ Skihut (east) Thurs. Dec. 16th..beginning @ 6p.m...Free to the public and all are welcome.

There will be a team dinner this Friday, December 10 after practice at Snowflake featuring Lasagna (I think). The cost will be $4. I know it will be good!

Anyone who would like to sigh up to be a KidSki coach needs to do so at Snowflake on Friday, December 3 ( or talk to Jenna or Anika). Remember that you earn a letter point fro this and it looks good on your college applications.
We have our pre-season meeting scheduled for Tues Dec 7 at 5:30pm (pizza will be served) at Snowflake for ALL volunteer KidSki Coaches.
