West Yellowstone Update

Posted by David Kask on Nov 13 2007 at 04:00PM PST

The trip is on!  With snow in the forcast and a few days to go we are still expecting to have good skiing.  However, just in case bring along a pair of rock skis, running shoes, a pair of roller skis (if you have them) and a helmet (there will be no roller skiing without a helmet) in addition to your normal ski equipment.  Check here Yellowstone Ski Festival for the latest conditions in West Yellowstone.  Do not rely on internet weather forcasts.  They are generally for Boseman which is much lower in elevation and therefore warmer.

Remember, there are four reasons we go on this trip:

  1. to get lots of practice developing our ski technique
  2. to condition our muscles to the demands of skiing
  3. to improve our level of endurance through long slow training at high altitude
  4. to develop Team unity and friendships within the team, section and Nordic skiing community

Even without snow we can accomplish 2, 3 & 4.  So lets "get er done!"

See you all at East High School (the lower parking lot behind the school) at about 4:40 p.m. on Friday.

 Dave

 PS Don't forget your wavers!
