The Last West Yellowstone Trip Info.

Posted by David Kask at Nov 14, 2005 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )
Hello Travelers, This is the last of the West Yellowstone trip information. The buses will leave from the Duluth East High School lower parking lot at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Be there 30 minutes early to load the buses. We are trying to get going quickly so we will have time to ski when we get there on Saturday. We will stop in Grand Rapids at the hockey arena at about 6:30 to pick up skiers there and hope to be on the road by 7:00. It is about a 22 hour trip including pit stops and breakfast. Make sure you have the signed waiver and behavior contract with you. You will need it to get on the bus. They can be found on this web site. Also bring any trip fees you still owe (hopefully they are already in and in the bank by now). Bring the clothes, skis, boots, poles, etc you need but nothing more. The buses are almost full and if all the stuff doesn't fit in the cargo hold you will have to sit with it (Joe). Be sure to bring money for the meals we are not providing (lunches, meals on the bus and 2 dinners). The other morning it was -14 deg. F. on the trails. It is a good thing it warms up quickly in the mountains. The word we have gotten back is it is beautiful blue extra skiing. It should be a great trip. Parents, check this web site for pictures from West Yellowstone. I'll try to get them on daily. Bonnie will update the West Yellowstone phone line each evening. Give it a call to hear what we have been up to. The # is on the info sheet. If you have any questions please give us a call right away. Dave & Bonnie 218-724-2775

KidSki

Posted by David Kask at Nov 13, 2005 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )
The start of KidSki is right around the corner (Dec 11). KidSki depends on skiers from the high school xc ski teams to help coach young children, aged 4-12, to learn how to cross country ski. This is a chance for you to share your talents and your time. You don't have to be an expert skier to help these kids. We play a lot of games and do very short loops on the trails - making a FUN experience for the kids is a huge priority. The children will love you and treat you like rock stars. Give back to the community and help ensure a future of cross country skiing here in Duluth. KidSki runs from 2:00-3:30pm on Sunday afternoons. Please contact Patti Harvieux if you can help: 724-6846 or harvieux@charter.net Also, check out our website: http://kidski.skiduluth.com Remember - You will receive a varsity letter point for helping with KidSki.
