Riverside Hockey Club - The Second Year

Posted by David Shook at Jul 6, 2004 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
The Riverside Hockey Club was formed in 2003 as a club team to allow students from Riverside High School and other area high schools who did not have hockey teams the opportunity to play hockey.

The Riverside Hockey Club is not recognized by the Painesville Township Board of Education as a sanctioned sport but the goal of the hockey club is to apply as a varsity sport in the near future.

The hockey club is responsible to pay for their own ice time for practices and games along with game jerseys and league fees which pays for scheduling and referee fees.

We do this by charging a fee to each hockey player and by having various fundraisers and most importantly by very generous sponsors who have made donations to help support the hockey club.

We also have two website fundraisers:  One is a magazine fundraiser that allows you to renew magazines on-line and the hockey club receives a 40% profit.  The other is a direct donation site to donate directly to the hockey team.  Please check out our home page for more details.

Our home games are played at the Mentor Ice Arena on Saturday afternoons.  Check the website for the game schedule.

NORTH COAST HIGH SCHOOL HOCKEY LEAGUE

Posted by David Shook at Jul 4, 2004 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
The Riverside Hockey Club is a member of the North Coast High School Hockey League. There are 11 other teams in the league. The league started six years ago with Brecksville, Brush, Gilmour Varsity B, Holy Name, Jackson, Medina, Mooney-Ursuline, Nordonia, North Royalton, Villa Angela St. Joseph, and Walsh Jesuit. This is a great oppportunity for those teams not belonging to the high school league so that their teams can be involved in standings/playoffs/etc. and have a structured protocol on code of conduct/rules/etc. The club league will have academic eligibility standards. http://eteamz.active.com/NorthCoastHSHockeyLeague/
