Diocesan Youth Protection Program/Background Checks

The Diocese of Harrisburg requires all individuals whether full time, part time or volunteer that have direct access to minors on a regular and ongoing basis to have a PA State Police Criminal Record Check and a PA Child Abuse History Clearance. This requirement is intended for all adults working within CYO basketball. If a coach or volunteer is from out of state they must obtain an FBI background check. The application fees are to be paid by the parish and the clearances are to be reviewed by the pastor and kept on file in the parish office. To report suspected sexual abuse of a minor within the Diocese of Harrisburg, call 1-800-626-1608.
