The North Royalton Bears were defeated by the Jackson Polar Bears 4-2 in non-league play on Sunday, November 10th. North Royalton played a decent 1st period and a strong 3rd but poor play in the middle frame and untimely penalties proved to be their downfall. North Royalton held a 1-0 lead after the 1st period as Aaron Schmitt’s power play goal, assisted by Christian Fernandez, was the only score in the opening frame. The Bears struggled during the middle period giving up two goals and being out-shot 14-3. North Royalton’s inability to stay out of the penalty box proved costly as Jackson scored two power play goals early in the final period to take a commanding 4-1 lead. The Bears played hard over the final minutes putting 13 shots on goal but only managed to find the back of the net once. AJ Bogdan scored an unassisted goal, his 5th of the season with just under two minutes remaining. The Bears record drops to 4-3 overall on the season, they will look to rebound on November 17th when they face-off against the Riverside Beavers at 2pm in Strongsville.
The North Royalton Bears defeated the PRPC Prowlers in non-league play on Sunday, November 3rd by the score of 6-2 Sunday, November 3rd. North Royalton dominated PRPC, out-shooting the Prowlers 34-13, and controlling play throughout the game. Branden Walsh led all scorers with 3 goals and an assist scoring an even strength, a power play and a shorthanded goal- the shorthanded marker turned out to be the eventual game winner. Michael Dzoba, A.J. Bogdan and Dylan Kovach each netted a goal for the Bears with Dzoba adding a pair of helpers as well.
