The North Royalton Bears defeated the Newark Generals, 2-1, in their 2nd game of the 2014 Buckeye Cup State Championship Tournament. The Bears, like in their 1st game, trailed 1-0 after the opening period but notched the equalizer in the middle frame. Timmy Orlosky scored on the power burying a great shot which beat the Generals net-minder far side; assists were awarded to Michael Schlegel and Angelo Nero. The two teams entered the 3rd tied at one apiece and it stayed that way until midway through the period when Aaron Schmitt netted the game winner while shorthanded; assists were awarded to Branden Walsh and Steven Vinyard. Tyler Roesch was solid again for the Bears stopping 29 of the 30 shots he faced. The Bears overall record improves to 33-16-1 with the win, a mark they will look to improve upon when they face off against the Mason Comets in Game 3 of the Buckeye Cup Tournament.
