Jesse Burkett LL Girls All Stars down Ty Cobb 22-5

The Jesse Burkett L.L. girls All Stars put the game away early as the first 9 batters of the game scored and after 1/2 inning were leading 12 - 0. Caitlin Brosnihan pitched two strong innings and struck out 4 Cobb batters. She gave way to Annie Castronovo and Kara Plourde whom each pitched 1 inning. The Burkett girls smashed out 13 hits in their 4 innings out bat. Leading the attack were Kelley Fluet, Caitlin Brosnihan, Leah Rice, and Meagan Kasala-Hallinan each having 2 hits. Also lending a hand in the hit parade were Melissa Beaudry, Ashley Pageau, Colleen Olen, Liz Griffin, and Kerrin Doyle each with one hit.
The next test for the All Stars will be on Monday July 7th against Jack Barry All Stars and the Joe Schwartz field at 5:30 pm. See you there.
JBLL Girl All-Stars beat Jack Barry 12 - 5

The Jesse Burkett L.L. girl All-Stars beat the Jack Barry All-Stars by a score of 12 - 5. Melissa Beaudry pitched 6 strong innings of 1 hit softball while striking out 13 Barry hitters. After another strong 1st inning by the Burkett hitters, the girls scored 8 runs and chased the starting pitcher away before the 3rd out could be made. Melissa helped out her own cause by scoring twice in the inning. Ashley Pageau lead the team offensively with two hits while Melissa, Liz Griffin, Annie Castronovo, and Mikaela McSherry each had one hit. Kelley Fluet and Colleen Olen each walked three times.
The girls next game will be against the winner of the Joe Schwartz vs Jack Barry game on Tuesday July 8th
