Stay tuned for info on Summer Baseball Leagues, ages 7-13

We will be offering two-games-per-week Kid and Coach-pitch baseball leagues with very few practices and no snack stand duty. We will play from the third week in July through the end of August. We will do our best not to overlap with the city's Sunset Basketball League. Team placement will honor some buddy requests, but an effort will be made to balance skill level making the teams as even as possible. We expect to play 12 games per team with 4-6 teams per league. We wil be co-playing against Hermosa Beach and maybe other South Bay cities. Expect Registration to open late May.

MBLL Baseball Summer Camp for ages 7-11

Manhattan Beach Little League will host Summer Little League baseball camps during the week of July 21-25 at the local Marine Complex in Manhattan Beach, and is now accepting online registrations. To register, click on the following link -

Mark Cresse School of Baseball (which conducted MBLL’s preseason mini-camps and coaches training) will provide one-on-one and small-group instruction for local baseball players aged seven through eleven (as of July 21, 2008) at separate morning and afternoon camps. The morning camp runs from 9 a.m. to noon for each of the five days, and is open to players aged seven, eight and nine. The afternoon camp runs 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. each of the five days, and is open to players aged ten and eleven. The cost of each camp is $200 per player, covering five days of extensive training in baseball fundamentals, individual position skills based on your son’s personal interest, and in-game application of new expertise.

 

The new camps mark Manhattan Beach Little League’s fiftieth year within the South Bay community, and the commitment to continued excellence and enjoyment of baseball for all participants. Please join us in supporting this new initiative, and thank you in advance for your continued interest and participation in MBLL’s year-round activities.

MLL Approved Softball All Star Teams Selection Process.

At its April 21st, 2008 Board Meeting, the MLL Board approved the following Rules, Procedures and Process for selecting its Softball All Star Teams, Managers and Coaches. Also attached is the schedule for the 2008 All Star Tournaments. MLL will be hosting any District Tournaments starting June 26th (check back later for details). Additionally, MLL will host Sectional Tournaments for the Minors (9/10 year old) Tournament at Marine West from July 11th through July 15th and the Juniors (13/14 year old) Tournament at Marine West from July 15th through July 20th.

Mira Costa High School has chosen different programs for the High School baseball players.  Consequently, MLL will not have enough players or coaches to make a Seniors program work.  If you were expecting to register your son, please check with local Babe Ruth, American Legion or Club teams for opportunities to play baseball.
