JV lose two close games

The Littleton High School Junior Varsity Hockey team lost two close contests during the holiday period both by the score of 3-2, against Oakmont and Assabet. The Oakmont game, played at Cushing Academy, 12/29, was an entertaining close contest throughout, with plenty of end to end action. Tiger goals scored by Mike Dargin (assist Damian Perry) and Dan Roop (assist from Mike Dargin/Tom Page) weren't enough as a late game goal scored by Oakmont broke a 2-2 tie to seal the victory. This past Sunday, the JV team again were in a close contest, this time against a spirited Assabet team. Playing at home, the Tigers held the lead for most of the game, but it wasn't enough as defensive breakdowns late in the game allowed their opponent to climb back into the game and snatch away the victory. Goal scorers for Littleton included, Tom Taylor, unassisted, as he won a face-off in the opponents end and hammered home his own rebound around a sprawling goaltender. The Tigers showed some strong puck movement by Chris Austermann and Bryan Takvorian as they combined to set up Damian Perry for the teams 2nd goal. The JV Tigers next home game is scheduled for Sunday, 01/12, at 7pm, against Groton, at the Groton School. By Rich Takvorian
