Lions take 1 of 3 from Rochester Redskins

Posted by Roger Peterson at Sep 17, 2005 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
The Canton Lions traveled to Pontiac to visit the Redskins for a divisional game. It was a controversial day with the Lions only winning the JV match up 33-18. The JV squad improved their record to 2-0. Both the Freshmen (1-1) and the Varsity (0-2) came up short in the final score. All teams are now working on things to improve upon and to prepare for the Farmington game.

Lions take 2 of 3 from Redford Rangers

Posted by Roger Peterson at Sep 10, 2005 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
The Canton Lions hosted the Redford Rangers to kick-off the 2005 football season.  All three Lion's teams played very hard on a hot and dry day.
The Lions Freshman team started the year off right with a convincing 32-14 triumph over the visitors.  The Lions were able to score on both offense and defense. The Lions JV team dominated the Rangers from the start of the game with a impressive 41-0 shut out.  The JV Lions were also able to score on offense and defense.  The Lions Varsity played well and battled Redford tough all game but eventually fell to the visitors 14-26.  All three teams will now focus on our next opponent the Rochester Redskins.

With training camp/conditioning starting during hot weather it's very important to be sure your child is hydrated. The Lion's coaches will do their best to ensure that your child has opportunity to take in fluids during practices.  As a parent, you need to provide your child with plenty of fluids to last through practice.  Gatorade has a good website that explains the need for hydration in kids.  Click on the title link above to get additional information on sports safety and hydration.
