Dear Soccer Team (and families):

At the start of each season, I plan on coaching for a 12 week season, BUT that only happens if we win two tournament games.  Well, WE DID IT!  The thrilling 2-1 victory over #6 ranked Lebanon on Saturday allowed us to play in our 12th week.

It also did a few other things....it allowed us to tie the school record of most wins in a season at 12, it allowed us to reach the district semi-finals for just the 5th time in school history and it gave us our 5th victory over a ranked team this season.  Each one of these is very exciting and a tribute to the effort given by our boys.

The season is not over as we travel to Northmont on Tuesday to play the #4 ranked Fairmont Firebirds.  Arrive at the high school at 6:00 for the bus.

I hope you are having fun.  This is why we push ourselves as hard as we do...to accomplish things that very few accomplish.

Dear Soccer Players (and families):

This week starts the tournament. It is very simple.....WIN and you keep playing, LOSE and you go home. Our team has the talent to play for a while, but we must give a 100% TEAM EFFORT.

I am happy to have brought up six players from the reserves to help us prepare for the tournament. Kalleb McDowell, Andrew Hayden, John Porter, Jonathan Soto, Jay Eshbaugh and Chad Smith have been a great help in practice.

I cannot stress enough to be prepared to play our very best each time we step on the field because that is exactly what our opponent is going to do. OUR BEST, FIRST TIME, EVERY TIME is exactly what needs to happen.

This past weekend we had 7 players voted to the GWOC All-South Team and 5 voted to the Miami Valley All-Area South Team. These numbers match the best recognition EVER for Miamisburg players. We received great support for our efforts this season. CONGRATULATIONS BOYS !!!

Dear Soccer Players (and families):

This week is one that we have waited on for 3 years.....a chance to win a conference championship.  Each of you have the chance to do something that boys soccer has never accomplished....become a champion.

This week we travel to Springboro on Tuesday.  The bus will leave at 4:15.  A victory and we are the GWOC South Champions.

We then host Stebbins on Thursday. It will be SENIOR NIGHT and a chance to thank our 10 seniors for their contribution to the program.

I want to thank everyone who helped make Saturday such a special day.  The tailgating picnic was awesome, the bus and game were fantastic and the soccer gods smiled on all of us with perfect weather.  THANK YOU ONE AND ALL.

Today, we received a #8 seed for the tournament (our best showing in 12 years) and with it comes a home match versus Fairborn.  We will host Fairborn on Tuesday, Oct. 14th.  A victory will allow us to travel to Lebanon on Saturday, Oct. 18th. 

I cannot STRESS ENOUGH the need for each player to do what they have committed to.....giving their best in practice and games, abstaining from alcohol, drugs, tobacco and steroids, and doing their best in school and maintaining the grades necessary to be eligible.

Congrats to our reserves who are riding a 9 game winning streak....awesome, baby!!!  The combined program is 20-6-2 for a winning percentage of .750%.   I am so happy for you guys.
