Miamisburg Vikings

Dear Soccer Players and Family;

This is so hard to believe, but the first 3 weeks of our 12 week season is already gone.  That's right, 25% of the season is over.  From opening tryouts through hopefully a nice tournament run is 12 weeks of soccer AND we just completed our third week.

Good news in that we registered our first victory on Saturday.  The 1-0 victory over Lima Shawnee made the ride home a bit more enjoyable.  The boys have played hard in the first two matches and overall we are pleased with our progress.  Much more must improve for us to reach out potential and we will be pushing the boys towards that goal.

I want to address quickly the issue that is upon us with several players requesting a second chance of playing for the team.  This is a very "sticky issue" and one that the coaching staff is looking at from all angles.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me to discuss.  As I have shared with the boys, we have a very good chemistry of teamwork going and I do not want to hinder that in any way.

Lastly, we have a very busy week with 3 games in six days.  PLEASE take care of yourself.....eat right, plenty of sleep and taking care of your school work.

Dear Soccer Players and family,

We are almost to the end of our preseason and in just 4 days we will kick-off our first match.  The boys have worked hard the past two weeks and with all of our fundraising the past month.  I say thank you to everyone for all of their help.  Everything has gone so smoothly and we look forward to a great season.

I do want to encourage everyone to stay positive this year.  We have a great group of players who will be giving their very best effort and I look forward to great results.  If you have any questions, comments or concerns, please speak with the coaching staff.  We want to be a positive source of information for you.

Lastly, please have a daily focus on our core values.....responsible, respectful, listen, honest and positive.  These five values will add value to you throughout the day.  You will become a better student, sibling, son and player if you apply them to your thought process.

Dear Soccer Players and families:

I want to thank everyone for such a successful month of July.  We had a very busy month and as I look back at all we accomplished, I am so proud of our group.  Contact days went great, Air Show was a huge financial success and the two camps added much value to our soccer community.  One word comes to mind...........EXCELLENT!!

I want to encourage each of you to enjoy the next three days off because you have earned it.  At the same time, I want to encourage you to make sure over the next ten days you prepare yourself for a great tryout.  You must do your pushups, situps, juggling and training to be ready.

Please sign up to bag groceries at Cubs Foods next weekend.  We have been approved to bag next Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 6pm.  Send an email to miamisburg.vikings.soccer@gmail.com to get on the volunteer list.

We do have conditioning on Monday, Wednesday and Friday of next week.  Also, a reminder that everyone must have their physicals completed for me by Tuesday of next week....August 4th.  You can get the form at the school office.
