MEADVILE - The "House of Chills" with all its State Championship banners and of course the Bulldog faithful were out in full force at the MARC. Meadville has had a resurgence with three wins in a row. A tight defensive battle in the first left the score 0-0 through the first period as the Bulldogs outshot the Gators 9-6. Late in the second period, while on the power play, Meadville's Tony Langs wrist shot had eyes on it and snuck past David Himes to put the Dawgs on top 1-0. In the third period, Meadville's Matt Rusilko took a pass in stride and moved in on Himes and slipped a backhander past the Gator keeper to give Meadville a 2-0 lead early in the period. The Gators struck back with a little over five minutes to play, as Justin Scott took a cross ice feed and beat Dan O'Sharuk to cut the lead to 2-1. Meadville took advantage of an undisciplined Gator penalty as Christian Nickerson tipped a point shot past the Gator keeper and the Dawgs enjoyed a 3-1 lead. But Gateway was not done as Zach Flora scored on the breakaway on O'Sharuk with two minutes remainiing. Gateway applied pressure and could not find the net as Meadville saved the victory 3-2. imageimage
