2002 Sam Harris Tournament

Posted by Don Parsons at Aug 26, 2002 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

To: SAM HARRIS Managers and Manchester Little League Presidents Please join me in Congratulating the K of C team from Manchester South in winning the 51st Sam Harris 2002 Tournament. South last won this Tournament in 1993. Runners Up, Manchester East battled long and hard to make it to Game 11 and the kids hung tough through the final game with a rally to score 4 runs. For the 12 year olds this was their last Little League game and hopeful this tournament allowed them to stretch a few more games and have Fun at the Team Skills Challenge and SHARE THAT FINAL SMILE with their coaches, parents and friends as a Little Leaguers. You've graduated now... I wish to thank all the Manchester Leagues for their participation and for sending their best team and more importantly their best kids to this long historic Tournament which we being from Manchester can say proudly is "Our Own City Wide Tournament". Again I want to thank West for replacing "The Revolving Sam Harris Trophy" which has been missing for 3 years and Thank you Leagues for sending Umpires to your assigned games. I truly enjoyed the offering of other help from all the leagues from EAST, CENTRAL, NORTH , SOUTHWEST, WEST; I could sense we were all there For the Kids... That's why we do what we do for them..... I know the 52nd Sam Harris Tournament 2003 being hosted by North will be as successful as it was this year because of you. Please join me in Thanking all the South Volunteers from Concession, GroundsKeeping, Scorers, Umpires, Skills Challenge in giving their time and energy to make this Tournament a memorable one. Especially those who came to help even though your kids weren't playing in this tournament, thank you for giving. I hope some of you saw the Monday game footage of South vs East on the WMUR-TV 11:00pm news with Sport Director Charlie Sherman. Thank you Pat Lewis for getting Charlie to send the cameraman Neil over to us. (I know Neil really liked Lou's Kielbasa on a Bun Special) Good Luck and Keep having Fun Take Care, HURRY and Have a Great Summer Before Fall Ball. George McMahon
