Thank you for allowing us to participate in your weekend tournament. Both my kids and parents had a wonderful time watching the boys play. Your organization and facilities along with the umpiring were excellent! Your hospitality made everyone feel comfortable and welcomed. This was without a doubt one of our most memorable tournaments that the Cypress Defenders have participated in. Despite the final score of the championship game this was a fantastic experience that everyone enjoyed.
Jose, we look forward to playing in more of your tournaments in the future!
P.S. Your Boyle Heights Dodgers played with a lot of Heart this weekend. I was very impressed with the team's level of play, you truly have a fine team that you should be very proud of!

On behalf of the Beach Boys and their parents, I sincerely want to
thank you for an absolutely wonderful experience with the August 16-17,
2003 C.A.B.A. Baseball Tournament.
We played against some of the best 12 And Under baseball players in
Southern California. We had some of the greatest games we could have
possibly had. And we had a lot of luck. All of the teams came back and
fought hard, but we were the Cinderella team and were able to stay in
every game.
The Championship Game against the Bell Eagles was the game of a
lifetime for all of the kids. Bell took control early, but we battled back to
tie the game 2-2, then roared ahead 5-2. But Bell came back and tied
the game 5-5. We went to the last inning tied up 5-5. Our second
baseman made probably the greatest 12 year old diving play on a hot smash
grounder that I have ever seen. We had the momentum. But on the last
pitch of the game, Bell scored on a line drive down the third base line
to win the game. All of the players on both sides were totally
emotionally spent. There were tears and cheers. But I'm telling you it was
the most exciting championship game I've ever been a part of. It was a
thrilling Tournament from start to finish. We ran out of luck on the
last pitch. I never jumped and screamed so much in my life. I lost my
voice. Its going to take me two or three days to recover.
The Tournament was well managed and the umpires were great. A lot of
calls went for us and against us (including the last line drive that
landed right on the chalk), but the calls were all made consistently and
with a love and knowledge of the game. I developed a real respect and
good rapport with each of the umpires, who I could tell really knew and
loved the sport. Its hard to disagree with the judgment call of an
umpire who had more about baseball knowledge in his little finger than all
of the coaches combined. I met a couple of those guys as umpires. I'm
sure you know the ones I'm talking about.
Again, I want to thank you for letting us into the Tournament on such
short notice and under flexible circumstances. Our baseball parents
absolutely loved that Tournament, and we will carry some joyful memories
about butting heads with some truly great 12 year old champions for a
long, long time.

I wanted to thank you for all of your efforts in putting on another successful tournament. I know how much time and dedication goes into making a tournament a success and you did a great job. When the trophies were awarded on Monday you pointed out how important parent support is to a team and I can't agree with you more. I was amazed by the dedication the parents of your team have. They were there the entire tournament in January and again for this tournament. I didn't see any bad attitudes, comments or actions... they always were smiling and making the best of it!! They even came out and had snacks for the final game in the rain and cold. You don't know how much those simple hot dogs meant to our players and families on that cold and rainy evening. One parent said that the hot dogs that night were better than a filet mignon!
Too often parents think that only their child is on the team when in reality mom, dad, sister and brother, grandma and grandma... are crucial members on a team and I think the families of the players on your team understand this concept.
In recognition of your hard work and the hard work of the people that helped you make this event such a success the HorsePower would like to donate $50.00 to your team.
Again thank you for putting on such a great tournament! Managers like you who put such dedication into not only their kid but also other people's kids are hard to find and you have certainly EARNED my respect and admiration.
Sincerely;
Chip
