Posted by Andy Gilley at May 8, 2018 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

The Commandos defeatedt the Green Wave of Gallatin 2-0 to advance in the District 9AAA Tournament.

HHS got a stellar pitching performance from Brandon Tucker and needed every pitch of it.  The Junior went 6 and 2/3 innings allowing just 4 hits and striking out 5 in picking up his 7th win of the year.  Kobe Carter came on to throw one pitch and record the final out of the game to pick up his 6th save of the season.

Offensively the Commandos got on the board in the bottom of the first inning as Austin Mays singled and stole second.  Mays would score on a two-out single from Gabe Dalton to make the score 1-0.

Gallatin threatened in the top of the 5th inning but Gabe Dalton single handedly kept the game at 1-0 with two outstanding plays in right field to keep the score 1-0.

The Commandos would add an insurance run in the bottom of the fifth as courtesy runner Matthew Dorris scored following a Brett Coker groundout to make the score 2-0.

With the win HHS improves to 28-5 overall.
