HHS DEFEATS STEWARTS CREEK 16-5
Hendersonville Commandos Varsity Clinches Lead in Fifth Inning to Defeat Stewarts Creek
HHS used an 11 run 5th inning to snatch the lead late in the game in a 16-5 victory over Stewarts Creek on Saturday. Trailing 5-4 in the top of the fifth inning when Hayden Mullins singled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs.
Mullins hit was followed by RBI singles by Gabe Dalton, and Brett Coker, and a double by Reid Nelson.
Michael Waller pitched 4 solid innings out of the bullpen to earn the win. The senior surrendered zero runs on five hits over four innings, striking out three and walking one.
The Commandos totaled 12 hits. Coker, Nelson, Austin Mays, and Layne each collected multiple hits for Hendersonville Commandos Varsity. Nelson and Coker each collected three hits to lead HHS.
With the win HHS improves to 5-0 on the year.
