A NEW SEASON HAS BEGUN...

Posted by Adrian Jaime at Nov 1, 2003 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )
Sunday November 2nd, 2003 The start of the 2004 racing season has begun. Today was the first practice of the year. There were 24 amazingly hungry and anxious kids ready to begin the process of trying to make their dreams of becoming a National Champion a reality. Ready to strive toward greatness while at the same time, ready to be great team players. Both Coach AC Jaime and Coach Bert Jaime were on site to witness the first steps of the many newcomers who have never racewalked before. It was a good mix with the "veterans" of the group who have been training each and every Sunday as they prepare to try and qualify for their next big goal - the High School Indoor Nationals.

News Flash from MIAMI !!!!

Here at the USATF National Jr. Olympic Games, the South Texas Walking Club showed the country the power of the fighting turtles. I think that the STWC t-shirt was more popular than the official meet t-shirt, because everyone seemed to want one. The kids were trading their shirts right after they raced with the other kids from all over the country and it really showed what great sportsmanship this team has. It did not matter whether they won or lost, all of the kids made the coaching staff very proud. Here are some results: Claudia gets first USATF Jr. Olympic GOLD Medal for the STWC. Also, Jessica walks an amazing race. She only started racewalking earlier this year and she has brought her time down from 10:24 all the way to her time today. 1500 Meter Race Walk Bantam Girls ========================================================================= Name Year Team Seed Finals ========================================================================= 1 Claudia Ortiz S.
