2004 Basketball Banquet Marks Season End

Posted by Donald Wilkerson at Mar 31, 2004 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )
The 2004 Clear Lake High School Basketball Banquet was held Thursday, April 1, 2004 at the Johnson Space Center Gilruth Center Alamo Ballroom. Consistent with their outstanding enthusiasm and support throughout the season, the parents of the varsity players, in devotion to their player sons, had the banquet hall very festively decorated in honor of the successes of the 2003-2004 varsity team. The evening consisted of dinner, recognition of the many people who contributed to the success of the basketball program, season reviews and team recognition for all five teams by the respective coaches, and the awards announcements for Falcon Hall OF Fame 2004 Inductee, George Wang Hustle Award, and Varsity MVP award. Clear Lake Varsity coaching legend Bill Krueger introduced former Clear Lake Intermediate Coach Jim Saxe as the 2004 Hall of Fame inductee. Coach Saxe originated and has provided scholarship money to the George Wang Hustle Award winner since 1978. Coach Saxe owns and operates the Clear Lake Putt Putt Golf Course on NASA Road 1. Shown in the picture are former coach Bill Krueger, former coach Saxe, and Hall of Fame Founder Leo Sarabia. This year Micah Walker received the George Wang Hustle Award (presented by varsity coach Lynn McDonald), and 6'11" post man Connor Atchley was chosen by his teammates as the team MVP. imageimageimage
