Falcons squeak by Bearkats

Few expected the Clear Lake vs. Klein game to be as close as it was. Coach Lynn McDonald expected it though. "If you look at their games, with the exception of the Pearland loss, they have played all their opponents close". Tuesday night at Klein was no different. The Falcons started out ahead and stayed slightly ahead by as much as 8 points throughout most of the game with the Kats closing the gap and tying several times in the second half. Lake would usually score easily when they weren't turning over the ball (19 bad passes) then the Kats would claw and scratch their way back to even the score. The final outcome (57-53 Lake) wasn't obvious until the waning seconds of the match. Aaron Greenwood had 8 rebounds and 12 points; Connor Atchley led all scorers with 13 points. Dennis Cerny pumped in 11 points. One bright spot in Lake's play was the addition of Armie Lewis, the talented freshman guard, who assumed the role of floor general with ease. Armie added 8 points to Lake's total. After the Freshman pumped in his second "3" of the second half, one veteran spectator quipped "You don't need the Marines when you have Armie"! Seems so.
