Starting out slowly in a high school varsity basketball game can often lead to disappointment. It sure looked like that early in tonight's contest between Lake and Marshall. Before we knew it, we were down 21-7 at the end of the first quarter. Lake outscored the Buffs 17-10 in the 2nd quarter to make it 31-24 Marshall at the half. After 3, Lake was down by 1 so it was an exciting final quarter. The lead changed 6 times in the first 2 minutes of the fourth quarter and the see-saw continued throughout the remainder. The Lake victory was not obvious until the last 30 seconds of the contest. Those with weak hearts cannot stand too many games like this.
John Argue had 17 pts., JaJa Sanni got on track and had 12. Casey Davis had 11, Jake Mather had 9, and Caleb Wright had 7.
The Falcons play at home Monday at 2 pm against Dobie. Saturday Dobie plays in the McDonalds Texas Invitational Tournament Saturday in the Division 2 Silver championship so lets hope they are tired.
