News and Announcements

Roncalli's 2001 Football campaign came to a heartbreaking end Friday night with a loss to northside archrival Cathedral. Momentum swung back and forth the entire game, eventually sending the game into overtime with the score tied 14-14. Cathedral went on offense first, and was held to a field goal by the stingy Rebel defense. Roncalli took control of the ball in their possession, and ended up being forced to attempt a 38 yard field goal that fell just short. The final score was Cathedral 17 Roncalli 14. We would like to wish all of the Rebels congratulations on a great season, and best of luck to all of the seniors.

Rebels Hold Off Flashes

Posted by chris strykowski at Aug 26, 2001 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
The Roncalli Rebels held off the high powered offense of the Franklin Central Flashes in the second half to improve their record to 2-0 on the season. F.C. jumped out to a quick 7-0 lead before the Rebels countered, scoring 21 points in the second quarter. This scoring included a 30 yard touchdown pass from Nick Johnson to Kyle Stephenson with about 1:30 left in the half. However, the Flashes would put together a strike of their own before halftime, going 65 yards in about one minute. After the half, a stout defense and a Jeff Westell field goal sealed the victory for Roncalli. Next up for the Rebels is the Chatard Trojans (0-2) at home on Friday.
