West Monroe vs Airline

West Monroe 49 vs Airline 6

West Monroe only had the ball for 13:44 and scored 49 points which equals a touchdown less than 2:oo minutes per drive.

The Rebels scored at will and just about every player on the team had a chance to play. This makes the 5th game in a row where the Rebels starters have left the game early in the game. The Rebels are averaging almost 50 points per game and have yet to have the starters play a complete game.

The Rebels had 486 yards of offense and averaged 15.2 yards per play.

The Rebels only ran 32 offensive plays compared to 59 for Airline. The Rebels again did not have to punt for the 3rd time this season.

Shelby Aulds was 8 for 9 for 204 yards and 3 td's. The receivers were LaDarius Abrams 2 for 35 yards, 1 td, Mario Wiley 2 for 35 yards, Mychael Manning 2 for 86 yards and a td, Don Brown 1 for 31 yards and a td, Brad Bell 1 for 19 and D.J.Banks 1 for 17. D.J. was 1 for 2 for 19 yards.

The Rebels only had the ball for one series in the 3rd quarter which was :15 when Shelby Aulds found Mychael Manning for a 72 yard td.

Rushing the Rebels were led by D.J. Banks 5 for 94 yards and a td, Jordan Pleasant 5 for 81 yards and 2 td's, LaDarius Abrams 3 for 60 and a td, Josh Brasher 2 for 11, Demetri Hampton 1 for 8, Deon Fowler 1 for 4, Eric Talton 1 for 3 and Don Brown 1 for 3.

The DeFense held Airline to less than 60 yards when the starters were in in the first half and look like they are getting better game by game. Les Aulds was the leader on tackles with 12.

Clash of The Old 2-5A

West Monroe 3-0 vs Ouachita 2-1 at Rebel Stadium

The Rebel scored first on a 8 yard td pass from Shelby Aulds to D.J.Bank!
After that Ouachita had a drive and was in the red zone when they attempted a pass when Les Aulds stepped in front of the pass and raced the opposite way to put the Rebels up 13-0.
Ouachita scored and it looked to be a ballgame! West Monroe took a 20-7 lead before Ouachita scored 10 straight points making it 20-17.
Ouachita never could stop West Monroe with the ground game of the Rebels.
The Rebels went in at half 34-17 and never looked back.
LaDarius and Brown had 148 and 149 yards on the night. Don Brown had 3 td's on the night and punished anyone that tried to bring him down.
The Rebels had 377 yards on the ground and totally dominated the game except for the time of possesion.
All I can say is this team has a great chemistry and are only going to get better.
Jordan Pleasant showed his versaltility tonight moving fron DeFense to running back and had some real good runs. 
D.J.Banks had a 58 yard kickoff return and several others also had some real good runs on punts and kickoffs.  Justin Brodnax had some long punt returns and almost had his head taken off with facemask penalty on one long return.
The DeFense had a few misques that Ouachita scored on, but overall they played great. Minko, Henry, Aulds, Kirksey, Burdeaux, Pleasant, Lee,, Eley, Noel, Clowers, Mahgoub, Gilley, Brodnax, Wiley, Glynn,Mitcham, Brassell, Block, Lay, Allen and crew were all over the field.
Mingo had 3 sacks for  31 yards in losses and  6 tackles. Les Auld had an interception for a td and 7 tackles. This interception came at a crucial point in the game.
Caleb Clowers recorded 8 tackles.
Isiah Wley and Tommy Block had 7  tackles along with Blake Brassel, Robert Lay  and Jordan Allen having 6 tackles each in the game. Jordan also had a sack giving the Rebels 4 sacks on the night.
Great game Rebels! This is the first time in a long time that I could feel the electricity in the air at a game of this magnitude.

West Monroe totally dominated Byrd tonight from the first possesion.
Shelby Aulds guided the Rebels downfield on the opening drive to take a 7-0 lead.
Then Isiah Wiley stepped in front of a Clint Bickham pass to take it to the house for the Rebels to make it 14-0 before the fans even got comfortable in their seats.
The Rebels DeFense scored 3 td's on the night and played outstanding. Isiah also recovered a fumble and scored for the Rebels.
Jordan Pleasant also scored for the DeFense on a blocked punt by the Rebels.
Shelby Aulds was 9 for 13, for 139 yards and 1 td pass to Mychael Manning.
D.J.Banks had 4 catches for 61 yards and Mario Wiley had 4 for 66 yards.
Don Brown also has a catch for 9 yards.
LaDarius Abrams had 2 td's and had 106 yards on the night.
8 different Rebels carried the ball tonight for a total of 185 yards.
Zack Kirksey made some outstanding plays on DeFense along with the whole Rebel DeFense.

West Monroe vs Huntington Recap

West Monroe 51  Huntington 14

West Monroe had 245 yards rushing and 174 through the air.Total yards 419.

West Monroe averaged 7.4 yards per play and 19 first downs.

LaDarius Abrams had 3 rushing td's and 1 reception for a td.

LaDarius had 113 yards rushing.

Shelby Aulds was 8 for 17 and 174 yards and a td. Shelby also had 2 punts that averaged 43. yards per punt. His longest was a 45 yarder.  The Rebels had 3 turnovers compared to 2 for Huntington. The Rebels had only 48 yards in penalties and look to be getting better game by game.

Mario Wiley, Mychael Manning, D.J. Banks and LaDarius Abrams were all on the receiving end of Shelby's passes. 

West Monroe mixed up the offense real well tonight by rushing the ball 39 times and passing it 18 times.  West Monroe held the edge on the time of possesion by 24:36-23.24.  The offensive line played a great game and look at mid-season form.

Jonathan Clingen was 6 for 7 on extra points and made a 36 yard field goal and just barely missed a 43 yarder.

The starting DeFense held Huntington scoreless with the only td coming on a 95 kickoff return and another late in the game on the reserves.

The Rebels DeFense was leadby Blake Brassel who blocked a punt and returned a fumble recovery 18 yards for a touchdown. Blake also had 7 total tackles on the night and one of them for a loss.

Caleb Clowers, Barkavious Mingo and Robert Lay each recorded 4 tackles for the Rebels.

Zach Kirksey,  Les Aulds, Logan Lee, Jordan Allen, Tyler Burdeaux, Tyler Glynn, Justin Brodnax and Jordan Pleasant were also in on alot the action with 3 tackles each.

Jordan Pleasant had a blocked punt and and a tackle for a loss.

Previous Game vs Thibodaux 2007

West Monroe 42  Thibodaux 7

The Rebels came out firing and showed a few weapons early when Shelby Aulds connected with Mario Wiley for a 81 yard td on the opening drive. 

Shelby played the first half and had 5 completions on 7 attempts for 106 yards and a td.

Don Brown powered his way for 2 td's and 50 yards on 11 carries and LaDarius Abrams had a td with 6 carries and 64 yards.

Eric Talton scored a td along with D.J Banks in the 2nd half. Nine different backs had playing time tonight. Jonas Tyson and Demetri Hampton also contributed for the Rebs!

3rd string qb Josh Brasher seen some action and had 3 carries for 32 yards.

Jonathan Clingen was 4-4 on extra points and Jacob Freeman was 2-2.

The Rebels did not  punt on the night.

The time of possesion was almost equal with West Monroe having 23:32 and Thibodaux 24:28.

The Defense held Thibodaux at bay the entire game until the reserves came in and Thibodaux got their lone score.  Jordan Allen collected his first interception at the Varsity level and their were several fumbles that we recovered, but I have to get the stats later on that this weekend.

The DeFensive unit as a whole played a great game!

 

Thier leading rusher was Demon Bolt who had 124 yards mostly in the 2nd half. I'll have DeFensive stats later on this weekend.
