Cougars end season in CIF Quarterfinals!

Posted by Charlie Cleaves at Feb 22, 2002 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )
The Cougars remarkable season came to an end against #1 seed Francis Parker in the CIF Playoffs Quarterfinals, losing 3-0. Except for the 1st 15 minutes, the Cougars played the senior laden Francis Parker Team even. But it was those first 15 minutes that the game was won. The Cougars came out a little tentative not wanting to make mistakes and gave the Parker girls to much space that resulted in 2 early goals. The Cougars rebounded and played an inspiring 2nd half that resulted in many scoring opportunities and left all that watched the game pondering the future for this talented bunch of Freshman and Sophomores!

The Cougars beat Guajome Park 4-0 in the first round of the CIF Playoffs, and will advance to the CIF Quarterfinals on Friday vs. #1 seed Francis Parker. Once again the defense led the way, rarely allowing Guajome Park into the final 1/3. Goals by DANI MORGAN, GESLEE GIORGI, BECCA SANDERS, and LISA MIX led the Cougar attack. The game marked the first CIF appearance in school history for a Cougar team!image
