On Saturday, June 12, 2004, the OHSAA hosted the Official Hall of Fame Banquet in Columbus Ohio. Members of the GCOA who attended were as follows: Mark Rogers/President, Jess Bowman/Secretary, George "Red" Struthers, and Max Hillsamer. During the night there were serval awards presented. George "Red" Struthers was one of officials inducted in to the Hall of Fame. He was presented a clock by the Commissioner of the OHSAA during the ceremony. Max Hillsamer also received an award for 25 years as a softball official. Please congratulate both of these gentlemen for their accomplishments. The first board meeting of the 2001-2002 year took place on Sunday, August 5th.

Hopefully, you saw the article in the Dayton Daily Newspaper on Ken Fox. The article ran on July 12, 2001. The article featured the above picture with Ken holding his bat that he received from being inducted into the Ohio High School Athletic Association Hall of Fame in 1991. As you know Ken Fox will be stepping down on July 31st as the Secterary of the GCOA. The article noted some of the highlights in Ken's career.
At the March 20th meeting, several members were presented with a Meritorious Certificate Award. This award is presented by the State of Ohio for years of service. We would like to Congratulate the following members for their outstanding service with the Greene County Officials Association. Members are listed from left to right. Larry Williams 25 Years for Baseball, Jim Willis 25 Years for Softball, Howard Purvis 15 Years for Baseball, Kenneth Ridenour 25 Years for Baseball, and Tommy Peirson 15 Years for Baseball.
