A Note From Coach Jimmy

Posted by Skip Reich on Mar 12 2002 at 04:00PM PST
To All Of The Blue Angels, As our winter season is coming to an end, I'd like to take this opportunity to let all the Angels know how proud I am to be a part of this special team. Your dedication and hard work has inspired me to be the best coach I can be. Many of you have sacrificed play dates, parties and sleeping late on the weekends. Most teams take a rest in the winter, not us. We played in over 23 tournament games, practiced twice a week and we're not finished yet. I had you play U11 this winter because I wanted to challenge you. I wasn't concerned about winning. I just wanted you to play hard and have fun. Not only did we play hard and have fun, we also had an impressive record of 13 wins, 3 ties and only 7 losses out of 23 games. At our first tournament playing U11, as I was passing by a coach of a team that we would play, I heard him tell his players, “This is going to be an easy win for us, were playing a U10 team.” Well, we showed them. We beat that team. Last Sunday as I walked by a coach, I heard him say, “This is going to be a tough game. The Americans are a strong team.” That’s what they are saying about us now. We are a tough team and we never give up. No matter who we play. This weekend we will play the top teams in our age bracket and we are ready. We are ready to play our best and have a great time. My prediction for this weekend is easy; we will walk on the field as winners and walk off the field as winners. Whether we win or lose. Sincerely, Coach Jimmy
