Coventry Tournament Results

Posted by Roger Moss at Dec 10, 2001 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )
It was a great day for the Minutemen who traveled to Coventry. Wrestling in his first tournament Derrick Durity won three matches on his way to being crowned Champion in his weight class. Derrick was aggressive and did a nice job controlling his opponents throughout the day. Also coming away a Champion was Zachary Parsons. Zach used some football moves in one match but was able to win his two matches and take home first place. Kevin Moss and Jack Rudy finished the day with one win and one loss to take second place in their respective weight classes. Cameron Banks wrestled with the big boys and came away with third place while brother Jack Banks worked hard and almost had a match won but just missed out on a takedown. The tournament was set up so that the first wrestler to get two takedowns advanced to the next round. It was a great day for all and they are already looking forward to the next tournament on December 30th in Bristol.image

Cross Face Cradle - M/W

Posted by Roger Moss at Nov 25, 2001 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )
Break man down. Right hand jams the opponents right arm straigtht out. Left arm goes across opponents face and grabs the opposite tricep. Turn your thumb on the tricep down towards the mat. Jump to side. Arm near head cross faces man, back arm posts on the mat between legs. Get on toes and run towards back leg driving head to knee. Lock hands up to man’s knee - keep the tricep with the left hand. Rock the man back top knee in side bottom leg back, head on temple.
