Coach Moss was very pleased with the efforts of all his wrestlers. “With all the sickness running around were were missing some of our more experienced wrestlers tonight”, Moss stated. He also wanted to thank the High School team for having four mats set up in the main gym and all the parents who timed and scored the matches, “This allowed us to wrestle almost 90 matches on the evening.” The next home match will be Friday, January 18th at 6 PM against Southington in the wrestling room.

Enfield - Pentalow Takes Lone 2nd Place

Posted by Roger Moss at Jan 8, 2002 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )
I was raining when most of left in the morning and then it was snowing when the wrestling started, but the sun came out before we left. That was the weather for the day which seemed to be a little better than the results on the mat. Derrick Durity Had a tough day against the same Waterford wrestler losing twice 5-0 and 6-5. Don't watch the score - just wrestle. Ryan Butler Lost first match 4-1, Won 9-4 against Southington and lost to South Windsor 5-2. Good matches need to keep your head up when on the mat. Mason Powers Lost 8-5 to Lindo from Enfield, Won by Tech Fall, then lost to Lindo again 9-8. Need to sprawl when man shoots and spin behind. Don't pull man on top of you when riding him. Did good job of breaking man down but need to sink 1/2 and run it. Keep your hips up when on the mat. Sean Pentalow - Lost to Murphy, Pin, Won Tech Fall 13-0, Won over Stamford 9-2, Won over Dumas from Somers Pin. 2nd Place! Need to sink the 1/2 and have your chest on his chest. image

Which Matches Are Ours - Confused?

Posted by Roger Moss at Jan 7, 2002 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )
When looking at our schedule or seeing a match listed on our front page it might be confusing to know which matches are ours and which are Berlin High School. All our matches say "Berlin Youth Wrestling." This way everyone should know when we have meets. Also our matches are mostly on Fridays. We have no matches on Wednesdays. See you, Coach Moss
