The scoring started midway through the first quarter when senior running back Dan Lomasney scored on a one yard plunge. After the 2-point conversion run by Lomasney, the Pilots found themselves up 8-0 on Sandwich. De La Salle quickly scored again as junior Jimmy Berezik returned a punt 75 yards for the touchdown, and after the 2-point conversion, De La Salle was now up 16-0. On the ensuing kickoff, senior Jared Buzo forced a fumble and returned the fumble to the Sandwich 10 yard line. Two plays later, Lomasney barreled into the endzone, putting the Pilots up 22-0 at the end of the first quarter. In the second quarter, it was more of the same, as the Pilots scored 14 more points, on a 15 yard touchdown pass to junior Don Fowler from Cecil St. Pierre, a 9 yard run by Lomasney, and a 2-point conversion pass to Emmanuel Johnson.
