Backed by a strong rushing attack that netted the Pilots 415 yards and 48 first half points, De La Salle beat U of D Jesuit Saturday afternoon 48-14.  De La Salle is now 4-0 on the year, 1-0 in league play.

The scoring started early and often in the first half, led by four touchdown runs (29, 19, 48, and four yards) by Chad O'Shell in the first quarter and a half of the game to give DLS a quick 28-0 lead.  The De La Salle defense did its job, stifling the U of D Jesuit running and passing attack and providing the offense with great field position.  With O'Shell getting the rest of the afternoon off after his fourth touchdown run, sophomore Andre Dortch came in and did not miss a beat, scoring two touchdowns of his own in the second quarter from one yard and 80 yards out, respectively to boost the DLS lead to 41-0.  After another stop by the DLS defense, the Pilot two-minute offense went to work, going 62 yard in 7 plays, ending in a Josh Sinagoga 16 yard pass to David Blackburn, giving DLS a 48-0 lead into halftime.

In the second half, many of the Pilot reserves got some well-deserved playing time and performed well, not allowing U of D Jesuit to score until late in the fourth quarter, but it was all academic as De La Salle won its league opener for the second straight year.

Now the Pilots will take on the Shamrocks from Catholic Central High School on Saturday, September 22nd at 1:00 PM at Fitzgerald High School. This is also De La Salle's homecoming game, so come out early and join what is certain to be a big crowd.

So until Saturday, Good Luck and GO PILOTS!!!
