Both Teams Scored 16 Points Apiece In The Second Quarter To Maintain A Lead Going To Halftime 33-32. The Bears Went Cold In The Third Period Only Scoring 5 Points And Trailed 41-38 Going To The Final Period. The Bears Were Outscored 21-17 In The Final Period. The Shelbyville Lady Golden Bears Went To 8-0 After Snapping Columbus East Olympians Six Game Winning Streak Thursday Night.The Game Was Back And Forth All Night Long. The Bears Biggest Lead Was 10 Columbus Closed To Within 3 On Several Occasions. But With 0.4 Of A Second On The Clock Gwen Haehl Sank Two Free Throws TO Seal The Victory. The Bears Were Led In Scoring By Gretchen Haehl 19,Katie Jackson 14,Halley Wise 11,Gwen Haehl 5,LeeAnn Douglas 4,And Christy Sammons 2.....

The Shelbyville point guard traveled the country this summer — from Florida to Indianapolis to Michigan — playing in tournaments. She stays after practice to work on her game. And Haehl has a competitive drive that’s second-to-none. “It’s amazing, her work ethic and what she puts into the game,” Shelbyville coach Michael Gaines said. “It’s tremendous when you see a player as good as she is and has accomplished as much as she has, and she stays after practice to shoot around. “You talk about somebody that’s a leader...I consider it a blessing just to have the opportunity to coach her.”..................
