Shelbyville whips Eastern Hancock 67-44

The Shelbyville Lady Golden Bears improved their record to 16-4 Thursday Night at Garrett Gymnasium. Gretchen Haehl set a new career record 1,377 beating Brenda Kelsay-Simmons 1,374 set back in 1981. The Bears were led in scoring by Gretchen Haehl 20, Haley Wise 13, Katie Jackson 12, Christy Sammons 6, Dana Gardner and Julie Snuffer had 4 apiece; LeeAnn Douglas and Gwen Haehl had 3 apiece and Lauren Murphy 2. Everyone on the team got playing time against Eastern Hancock. Note: Gretchen Haehl was named WKWH player of the game for the second straight game. The lady Bears JV team won 39-15. The Lady Bears have a 21 game winning streak at home.The Lady Bears are in action next Friday against Columbus East in the second game at the Columbus North sectional tip off 7:30Pm.

Lady Golden Bears lose to fiesty Cubs

Franklin--- The Shelbyville Lady Golden Bears did very little right...and still almost won.
Shelbyville Lady Golden Bears suffered their 4th loss of the season at Franklin Tuesday Night. Franklin led 15-10 after one quarter, then outscored Shelbyville 16-8 in the second quarter to lead 31-18 at halftime. The Bears outscored Franklin 16-9 to cut the lead 40-34 after three quarters. The Bears cut the lead to 52-50 after a Gretchen Haehl 3 pointer with 30 seconds to go. Franklin then turned it over. With 8 seconds left, Gretchen threw the ball to her sister Gwen for a lay up but the ball went in and out. The bears were led in scoring by Gretchen Haehl 28, Gwen Haehl 13, Katie Jackson 5, and Haley Wise 4. note: Gretchen Haehl was named WKWH player of the game. The bears end their regular season at home Thursday night. Come fill the gym Thurs. to see Gretchen Haehl attempt to break Breda Kelsay-Simmon's 23 year-old scoring record. The Bears open Sectional play against Columbus East Friday Night Feb.13th at Columbus North.
Connersville--- The Shelbyville Lady Golden Bears didn't hit a field goal in the 4th quarter Saturday and still defeated Connersville,60-51.
