The Girls Basketball Team hosted Edinburgh on Friday night. The Bears led 12-11 after the first quarter and pushed the lead to five points at the half leading 26-21. After a back and forth third quarter, the Golden Bears took control of the game and was up 50-38 with four minutes left to play. The final score ended up at 57-48 and moved the varsity to 2-1 on the year. Kylee Edwards scored a team high 27 points. Abby Brenner scored 7 points, Ava Wilson, Madison Bassett, and Ella Johnson all scored 6 points, while Madison Phares scored 5 points. The JV won and moved to 3-0 on the year.

The Lad Bears Moved Their Record To (2-1) After Defeating Edinburgh 57-48. The Lady Bears Was Led In Scoring By: Kylee Edwards 27, Abby Brenner 7, Ava Wilson, Madison Bassett, & Ella Johnson 6 Apiece, & Madison Phares 5. Edinburgh Was Led In Scoring By: Callie Hancock 17, & Gracie Crawhorn 10. The JV Team Stays Perfect at (3-0) After Defeating Edinburgh 39-17. The Lady Bears Will Be Back In Action Saturday Night When They Travel To Take On Morristown JV Tip is At 6 PM. And Varsity Tip Is At 7:30 PM.

The Girls Basketball team opened the 2021-2022 home season Tuesday night welcoming county rival number 5 in 1 A Waldron to Garrett Gymnasium for military night. The Lady Bears were shot out of a cannon scoring the first seven points of the game. Shelbyville led 15-9 after the first quarter. Waldron responded with a 8-3 run to start the second quarter to cut the lead to 20-17 with four minutes remaining in the first half. Kylee Edwards hit a 3 at the buzzer to give the Golden Bears a 25-23 halftime lead. Shelbyville opened the third quarter with an 11-3 run building a 36-26 lead with 5 minutes to play in the third quarter. Waldron would once again respond with a 6-0 run to cut the lead to 36-32. Bella Larrison beat the buzzer this time for Waldron to end the third quarter with the Golden Bears up 36-34. Waldron opened the fourth quarter with back to back 3’s to build a 40-36 lead and Shelbyville wouldn’t get any closer. Number 5 in 1 A Waldron went on to beat Shelbyville 54-48 and the Lady Bears moved to 1-1 on the year. Ava Wilson and Kylee Edwards both scored 12 points for the Golden Bears. Senior Madison Phares scored 10 and Abby Brenner had 9. The JV defeated Waldron to move to 2-0 on the year. Both Teams will host Edinburgh on Friday with a 6 pm JV start time.

The Lady Golden Bears Moved Their Record to (1-1) After Being Defeated by now (3-0) Waldron 54-48. The Lady Bears Was Led in scoring by: Kylee Edwards, & Ava Wilson 12 Apiece, Madison Phares 10, Abby Brenner 9, & Cheyenne Eads 5. Waldron was led in scoring by: Bella Larrison 22, & Mackenzie Shaw 10. The Lady Golden Bears Will Be Back in action Next Friday Night when they will host Edinburgh. JV Tip is at 6 PM. & Varsity is at 7:30 PM.
