Bears Cause Tigers To Turn Over A Victory

Shelbyville improved its record to 13-5 after a convincing 45-31 win over Triton Central at home Tuesday night The Bears took a 18-5 lead after one and never looked back. They were up 31-18 at halftime 41-28 after three their biggest lead. They played their best denfensive game this season. The Bears were 7 of 9 from the free throw line. The Bears were led in scoring by LeAnn Douglas and Dana Gardner with 15 apiece, Lauren Murphy 9, Julie Snuffer 4, and Laura John 2. Triton was led in scoring by Brittany Billingsley 14. The Lady Golden Bears next game is on Saturday Jan. 29th. JV tip is at 1PM. Varsity tip is at 2:30PM.

Shelbyville Golden Bears Win Big at Delta

The Lady Bears took 2nd place by themselves in the Hoosier Heritage Conference with a 64-39 victory over Delta Saturday afternoon the Bears led all the way. For the third straight game, the Bears scored 20 or more points in the opening quarter this season. The Bears scored 23 against Mt. Vernon, 22 against Rushville, and 20 against Delta. Scoring by quarters 20-4 after one, 30-13 halftime, 46-31 after three, and the final 64-39. The Bears were led in scoring by Lauren Murphy 17, Lauren Rees 13, Ashley Ayers 10, Dana Gardner 9, LeAnn Douglas, Julie Snuffer, Sarah Wheeler 4 apiece, Melanie Clark 2, and Laura John 1. Delta was led in scoring by Chandra Hart 12. The Bears move to 12-5 overall and finish 6-1 in the Hoosier Heritage Conference. The Bears will finish the remainder of their season at Garrett Gymnasium beginning with Triton Central on Tuesday Jan. 25th JV tip is at 6PM. Varsity tip 7:30PM.
