Shelbyville Lady Golden Bears defeat East Central

The Shelbyville Lady Golden Bears advanced to the semi-final round of the Columbus East Sectional Friday Feb. 11th after defeating East Central 58-41 to move their season record to 15-6. Columbus East defeated #8 Bloomington North in the second game 52-49 to move their season record to 18-2. Shelbyville will take on Colums East in the first semi-final game on Friday Feb. 11th followed by Columbus North vs #9 Bloomington South. The Bears were led in scoring by Lauren Rees 14, LeAnn Douglas 13, Dana Gardner 11, Lauren Murphy 10, Ashley Ayers 6, Kelli Haehl 3, and Julie Snuffer 2. East Central was led in scoring by Kender Darringer 15. Congratulations to the Lady Bears, coaching staff and trainer from your stat, head webmaster, and manager Ron Williams.
Shelbyville seven-game winning streak came to an end Tuesday at Garrett Gymnasium.

Franklin came to Garrett Gym Tuesday night and spoiled the Lady Golden Bears senior night with a win 61-54. Shelbyville was led in scoring by LeAnn Douglas 16, Lauren Murphy 13, Lauren Rees, Dana Gardner, and Julie Snuffer 6 apiece, Laura John 5, and Ashley Ayers 2. Franklin was led in scoring by Ashley Adams 20. The Lady Golden Bears open the 2005 IHSAA sectional at Columbus East Febuary 8th at 6PM when they take on East Central.

The Lady Golden Bears improved there season record to 14-5 after they demolished Connersville 50-33 Saturday afternoon. The Bears led by 6 after one, 10 at halftime, 15 after three, and they outscored Connersville 8-6 in the fourth for a final 50-33. The Bears were led in scoring by Dana Gardner 15, Lauren Murphy 9, LeAnn Douglas 8, Ashley Ayers and Julie Snuffer 7 a piece, Laura John and Heather Carlson 2 a piece. Connersville was led in scoring by Kristin Malone 18. The sectional draw is Sunday at 2PM it can be heard on WKWH1520 AM and 94.3 FM. The Lady Bears will play there last game of the season Tuesday Feb. 1st JV tip is at 6PM. and Varsity tip is at 7:30PM. at Garrett Gymnausium Senior Night.
