C. Milton Wright has a rich tradition of distance running in the state of Maryland. The girls have won state cross country titles in 1988, 1999, and 2000. While the boys have won state titles in 2001, and 2002. The girls have finished 2nd 5 times (1985, 1994, 1996, 2000, and 2001), and the boys have finished 2nd 3 times (1992, 1993, and 1998). We have had numersous individual standouts as well. Mary Beth Rollins won state track titles in the 1600, and 800 in 1996. Kelli Coogan won a state title in cross country in 1997. Cara Wettlaufer was a state indoor and outdoor 1600 meter champion in 2000. Kelli Buck has won a state indoor 3200 meter championship and an outdoor 1600 meter championship in 2002. Eric Benjamin was a state 3200 meter champ in 1995. Brian Harris was a state runner-up in the 1600 meter in 1993.. Pat Bailey won 2 state titles in cross country and 2 state titles in the indoor 3200 meter run in 2000, 2001, and 2002. Aaron Smith was a state 1600 meter champion in 2001. The team of Jesse Slowikowski, Pat Bailey, Will Murdoch, and Aaron Smith won 2 state titles in the 3200 meter relay in 2001. Will Murdoch had top 5 finishes in cross country, 1600 meter run, and the 3200 meter run in 2001. Jesse Slowikowski had top 3 finishes in cross country, 1600 meter run, and 3200 meter run in 2001, and 2002. Morgan Little had 2 top 15 finishes in cross country as well as runner-up finish in the 3200 run in track. Megan Watkins was an all state performer in the mile. Kacie Remeto was all state in both track and cross country. Brian Eagan was a 2 time all state performer in cross country and and all state performer in the 4 x 800 relay. Top runners from the past include Chad Boyle, Jenn Englehart, Amy Altman, Steve Donahue, Jeff Hankins, Jeff Tolson, Megan McHugh and others.
