From Coach Watkins!
This year's championship game was played against the Brunswick Browns who played one heck of a game. They led the Jets with less than 3 minutes to play by a score of 7-6. The Jets had never trailed in a game all season long, and would have to play together as a team if victory was going to be theirs. That is exactly what the did. The Offense found the end zone with 2 minutes to go scoring 6 points and then finding the goal line for the point after.
The Jets Defense delivered the final blow with an interception for another 6 points. The final score was 19 to 6. What a Great Game by both teams!
I have been a Jets' Coach for 4 seasons now and plan to be for some years to come and there is no greater reward for a coach than to see the smiles and to hear the cheers of the children who come out to play with, and believe in you as much as you do them.
Thanks to all of my Jets children, Varsity, JV and Flag. I am looking forward to see you all in the Fall.

Well Done Jets
Your team played with intensity and Buckeye Pride, and they got a victory for their work! I know how hard the Jets have worked to bring themselves to the level they have attained and I am proud of all of you. As I said many times over the 2000 season when the Jets were struggling to get started, stay with it and you will build a team that will win lots of games when they get that experience. That time has come to pass.
The big picture here is the high school program. Twenty-one of the fifty-five players this season came from the youth program, 19 Jags and 2 Jets, however it won't be long before plenty of Jets join the ranks of the Varsity Bucks.
Continue your focus and work toward returning to the Championship Game. In the meantime the Jags will also continue their work, and hopefully we will meet on November 1 for an all Buckeye Game. Again congratulations and keep up the good work! Buckeye Pride!

Jets End Their First Season
These young men pictured above worked very hard since the first day of practice and layed the groundwork for those who will follow thme in future seasons. They and their coaches deserve alot of credit as it is extremely tough to bring a team into a league of established teams and be competitive. They finished at 1-6 but the Coaches understand the task at hand and the Jets had the advantage of having a solid base already established in the Jaguars' existance with experienced coaches to guide the program.
We do not gauge sucess as being all based on wins and losses. The player's willingness to learn, effort at practice and games, and teamwork figure in the mix of building a successful team and program.
Congratulations to Cleatus Varney and Rock Supan with the excellent effort you put forth in getting your players ready each week to play and helping to instill Buckeye Pride in each of them. We look forward to the 2001 Season and building upon this year's foundation.
GO JETS! BUCKEYE PRIDE!
