The 2010 Jaguars Varsity Finish Second

Posted by Dave Rea at Nov 7, 2010 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )
The defending Varsity Champion Jaguars brought their 7-2 record into the Championship Game against the Jets on Saturday night November 6th, 2010 and came up short by a touchdown. The Jets defeated the Jaguars for the 3rd time this season as they won the Varsity Division Championship game 19-14 and sent the Jaguars home as they Runner Up. It was a back forth game until late in the 3rd quarter when the Jets went up 19-6. Then Trevor Thome hit Blake Brumfield with a beautifully thrown pass to pull the Jags within 19-12. The two point conversion was good and the Jags trailed 19-14. That's the way it would end as the Jets got the ball back with less than 3 minutes to go and rode it out on the ground.

The Jags finish the year at 7-3 and had another great season. They have gone to the Championship game 3 times in a row and are 30-4 over the last 3 seasons. Congratulations to all the Players, Coaches, Cheerleaders and parents on another fine season of Jaguar Football! Go Jags!!

Posted by Dave Rea at May 8, 2010 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
The Golden Jag Award for 2006 went to Billy Doerge. Billy has played for the Jags for the last 2 seasons, both of them on Varsity. He represented Heart, Pride and Discipline that are the cornerstone of Jaguar Football.

He stepped forward this season and really was the heart and team leader of the Varsity Squad. New Head Coach Dave Kargle was impressed with his play in both practices and games. Congratulations Billy, the Jags are proud of you!

Update: Billy played for the Bucks his freshman season in 2008 and was back in 2010 as a Junior after sitting out the 2009 Season. He missed the last few games of the 2010 Season with some health issues. We are glad he came through that okay. Billy started at QB for the Bucks in 2011 season and was named Prep Player of the Week by 'The Gazette' for their game against the Brookside Cardinals. Doerge was the Bucks' MVP for 2011 and was Medina GAZETTE First Team as a Safety. Billy threw for 439 yards and ran for another 593. He had 1,300 yards punting also for the Bucks. He graduated in 2012 and is currently attending the University of Akron studying Engineering.
