As the Jaguar Varsity moves into the 2000 season we are pleased to welcome back to the Varsity Coaching Staff, Dave Rea, Lee Mercer, Ken Pekarek, and Bob Morcom. We also have a new addition this year in Scott Hendricks, Scott was recruited by Lee Mercer and he will assist with the Varsity Jaguars. Welcome Coach Hendricks.
We would like to thank Coach Cleatus Varney, who has moved over the Jets Varsity duties, for his 2 years with the Jaguars Varsity and JV. Good Luck with the Jets Coach Varney, we know you will do a great job!
The coaches are optimistic about being able to repeat as BYF Champs in the upcoming season.
GO JAGS! BUCKEYE PRIDE!
Good solid line play, great play execution, fine running by our backs, and complete TEAM play all were factors in handing the Chargers just their 3 loss in the last 5 years!!
Coaches Lee Mercer, Ken Pekarek, Cleatus Varney, and Bob Morcom had these kids well prepared for the game and made the dream of bringing the Championship to Buckeye a reality!

I would like to tell all of the players, Jaguar Flag, Panther Flag, JV, and Varsity that it has again been great be able to coach and watch all of you grow as football players and young men. I hope that your football experience this year was an enjoyable one and that those of you that are able will return next season as we continue to expanding the program and making steps forward to be a solid part of the Buckeye Football family. Those of you that cannot return due to age or weight limits remember your experiences here and use them in the future playing football and in life. You will always be a Jaguar and you are welcome to visit practice or come to games anytime you are able to do so.
To the Jaguar Varsity players this was a special season and you earned that BYF Championship, and exhibited the kind of effort, pride, and dedication that the coaches have preached since the Jags were formed 4 seasons ago.
I am proud of all of you and it was a privilage to be the Head Coach of a great bunch of young men. Enjoy the feeling of being Champions during the off season. Next August we will come back and work hard again to defend that Championship!
To my Coaches at all the levels, you did a terrific job of getting these guys ready to play every week and I appreciate your time and dedication to coaching the Jaguars.
Finally to Assistant Coach Mercer who took the sidelines in my place those last weeks, great job Lee, you did us all proud and I am glad that you came to the program last year. Those Varsity players were ready every game and exhibited the word TOGETHER that you have talked to them week in and week out about since you have been here. I am pleased to work with you during football season.
