The West Allis Nationals overcame injuries, employment conflicts, and the elements to secure a victory in their conference opener.
Short several starters and playing in a steady drizzle, the Nats battled to a 15-7 victory.
The second game of the scheduled DH was rained out.

Despite the poor weather, the Nats were able a substantial offensive performance in defeating Cream City 15-7.
James Herkowski and Jake Koutnik had two hits each as the squad successfully began its title defense.
Jim Dettmann overcame some early wildness to notch his second victory of the year.

The Nationals opened their 2001 campaign with victories over 3 different non-conference opponents.
On Friday May 18, the Nationals were led by Nick Kibler and Mark Van Hart and defeated the Menasha Macs (41-9 in 2000)by a score of 6-4.
Saturday Jimmy Dettmann was the star as the Nationals defeated the Clintonville A's 7-4.
The Neopit Indians forfeited the third game as the Nationals posted a perfect 3-0 record on the trip.
