Spring Meeting Results

Here are some notes from last Sunday's Spring Meeting: 1. New Players for 2003: Tom Donovan, Jim Jungbauer, Tim Ustruck, Jared Stengel, and possibly Dan Lorum. 2. New League/Rules for 2003: Wood Bats (players must purchase own,) Playoff Eligibility: 6 Games. 3. Schedules Released: 30 Games/20 League Games; majority are Saturday night, though 3 Tuesday dates, 2 Friday Dates, and 2 Sunday dates are included. 4. Registration: To be eligible to play, each player must sign a registration card and pay a player fee. Those who haven't need to contact Steve. 5. Sponsors: The team has received a verbal commitment from Cesar's Inn. Players will need to make an effort to patronize our sponsors. 6. Special Assessment: The team needs to secure additional sponsorship totalling $500-$1000. Should the team fail to do so, players will be assessed an additional $50 each. 7. Hall of Fame/Old Timers Game: May 3, 2PM, Zirkel. All current players are expected to participate in this exhibition game against those of days-gone-by. A tailgate party at Cesar's Inn will follow. 8. Road Trip May 16-18: Steve needs to know the status of each player for the upcoming trip. Attending only certain games is perfectly acceptable, though a commitment to the entire weekend is beneficial to the team going forward. 9. Uniforms: New hats, belts, and socks have been purchased (Blue) New jerseys are under consideration. 10. Pre Season Practice: Nick Kibler will organize: 727-1966 or rkibler@wi.rr.com. 11. The 2003 Doyne Open will serve as a post season awards ceremony/fundraiser and all players are expected to participate. The tentative date is August 31. All participants will receive a certificate redeemable for a free custom fitted, 60 degree lob wedge.
