NATIONALS HONOR JJ NEIBAUER; #11 RETIRED

Posted by Steve Elliott at May 2, 2003 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
Board Member and longtime National Bench Coach, JJ Neibauer, is stepping down after 12 seasons. Neibauer was an integral part of multiple management teams through the 90's and 00's. His influence with managers, players, umpires, scorekeepers, and scribes will be missed. Though shedding his uniform, Neibauer will remain active in the team's front office. Neibauer will serve as the team's correspondent to the West Allis Star. Always an original, JJ will be honored as such. JJ's #11 will become the first number retired by the club in recognition of his unique contributions off the playing field. Congratulations go out to JJ Neibauer and his newly retired #11.

SPATA TO SERVE AS NEW FIELD MANAGER

Posted by Steve Elliott at Apr 24, 2003 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
The West Allis Nationals are proud to announce that veteran pitcher, Tim Spata, has agreed to serve as the team's new field manager. Spata brings an extensive leadership experience. He has served in a variety of coaching positions with West Allis Central's football, basketball, baseball, and girls softball programs. Spata's commitment to and passion for the Nationals franchise has earned him the respect of both teammates and management. Congratulations to #18 as he steers the franchise toward another championship season in 2003!
Rupenas Foods offered both financial and food support to the franchise today. In addition to a $100 contribution to the team, Rupenas will donate food for the team's Old Timers'/Hall of Fame tailgate party on May 3rd at Cesar's Inn. For the best service and meat products in town, please patronize a long time supporter of Nationals baseball.
