Dear Parents/Guardians:

It’s February and that means two things: 1) warm temperatures return to Houston, and 2) another VHS Tennis season gets underway! While we wait for the courts on campus to be finished, the boys’ and girls’ teams are already practicing at the Ashford Community Tennis Courts on Whittington. Team members are expected to attend practices and matches after school Monday through Friday. We also have a new weight room, and players will be using these facilities in the interest of improving their on-court game. Our goal is for each individual player to observe improvement in some aspect of their game so they can experience how making a dedicated effort produces improved athletic performance and favorable results. We also strive to extend this same philosophy to other aspects of our young players’ lives, especially academics. Our first scrimmage is 2/16 at Houston Christian, and the start time is 3:15p. Our first district match is 2/23 vs. Second Baptist, and this match will be at the Houston Racquet Club and starting at 3:15pm. Please see the schedule for all of our matches and understand match dates and times can change! Please, always be in contact with your son/daughter on match days.
