2005 Reserve List Registration

Posted by robert hopkins at Apr 14, 2005 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
Registration for the Fall 2005 season has been completed. However, if you missed the registration deadline, which was 15 April 05, and wish to have your youth participate this Fall, registrations are still being accepted to compile a "RESERVE LIST". Currently, the league has limited existing roster openings for 5th and 7th grade participants. 5th and 7th grade registrations that are received will be guaranteed a team assignment on a first come first served basis until existing team rosters are filled. After this has been accomplished, all subsequent 5th and 7th grade registrations will be placed on the "Reserve List" The "RESERVE LIST" will be maintained to backfill any positions which may become available for whatever reason in all divisions (Junior, 5th, 6th, 7th) between the registration deadline and 01 September 05. Please be advised that placement on the Reserve List in no way should be construed as a guarantee of League participation and may or may not result in a team assignment. To be placed on the Reserve List, registration materials MUST be forwarded by US Mail and the following materials must be included for the registration to be accepted and processed. 1) A completed and signed PLAYER REGISTRATION FORM. 2) A signed PARENTAL CODE of CONDUCT. 3) A copy of the participant's BIRTH CERTIFICATE. 4) A CHECK or MONEY ORDER made payable to the WDMLPYFL, Inc. All registrations received for Reserve List placement will be serially documented as they are received. Should a player opening occur on any one of the existing League teams, in any Division, a Reserve List player will be notified to fill the existing vacancy. If the participant chooses to fill the existing vacancy, the participant will be placed on the team with the identified vacancy and will subsequently be advised of the team assignment. The League will not cash any checks until such time as a team placement has been confirmed and approved. In the event the participant has not received placement by 01 September 05, all registration materials (including the full registration fee) will be forwarded back to the registrant. All League Registration Forms are accessible and easily referenced by proceeding to the 'HANDOUTS' section of the site menu. Commissioner's Comments

The first day of practice is August 23rd, 2004. Your athlete will have an easier time adjusting to conditioning drills if he or she has been involved in aerobic activity over the summer. Encourage your football player to get involved in running, biking, or swimming whenever possible. The League game-sock supplier is your local "Soccer Connections" outlet. There is one at 312 Grand Avenue in WDM and one located at 3029 100th Street, Urbandale. Pickup several pairs as they tend to become "missing in action" during the year. Soccer Connections staff know which sock you need according to team and will also provide a discount on the purchase price. League Insurance Rules and WDM School District Facility Use Guidelines will allow only LEAGUE-APPROVED persons on the field during games. If you are not a coach, assistant coach, referee, member of the chain-gang, or other authorized individual you will be asked to leave. In two short years the West Des Moines "Little-Pro" Youth Football League has become the premiere youth football league in the State of Iowa thanks to everyone involved. We have great athletes, great parents and fans, a gorgeous stadium, and phenominal support from the WDM School District and WDM Parks Department. Co-Commissioner Brad Hopkins and I are committed to making your experience in the West Des Moines Youth Football League one that you will reflect on positively for many years to come. Thank you for putting personal time and energy into youth sports. I know from personal experience that doing so is an investment that pays a lifetime of rewards. League Mission Statement

Posted by robert hopkins at Jul 28, 2004 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
Welcome to the West Des Moines 'Little Pro' Youth Football League, Inc. Our goal is to develop well rounded youth who not only learn the fundamentals of football, but also the importance of education, in an atmosphere conducive to developing sound mind, body and character - and having a good time along the way. We practice the ideals of sportsmanship, scholarship and physical fitness. Our program stresses learning lessons of value far beyond the playing days, such as self-discipline, teamwork, leadership and good sportsmanship. The WDMLPYFL,Inc. is a non-profit organization established to promote the development and maintenance of a supervised, youth-based football program serving the communities of Central Iowa. We endeavor to educate players, parents, coaches and the community concerning the inherent beneficial aspects of a competitive tackle youth football program and the positive impact the principles of hard work, cooperation, playing hard, obeying the rules and treating everyone as an equal, have on the youth of our communities. We recognize the important, healthy and satisfying role that structured athletic competition provides for the millions of youth who choose to participate in a variety of sports provided by youth leagues and programs across the country on a yearly basis. Our objective is to provide this invaluable opportunity to the youth of our communities, while functioning under the philosophy that the attainment of exceptional athletic skill or the winning of games will always be secondary to molding and creating an environment conducive to the fundamental and productive development of future citizens. imageimage
