This next meet will the last one for 8U born in 2012 or later. It will be held on May 19th and 20th, 2019.
Clerking – I heard a lot of calls asking for next clerking shift to come down. This should not happen. Everyone is scheduled for 2 hours so it is not fair when you do not show up because it makes those parents that do show up work longer shifts. You are able to leave to watch your child compete and come back. Just let the ladies know you are going to watch. This allows other parents to go watch their child compete as well. We are a family and everyone must pitch in and do their share to help out. The more efficient the clerking table is the faster the meet will go. We have 2 more track meets so let’s finish off with a bang….. 13/14 and 8U parents will be scheduled for May 19th and 20th and 11/12 and 9/10 parents will be scheduled for June 16th and 17th. I will not to schedule you for both meets if you are across 2 or more age groups.
Practice – Guys it is time to start peaking so please try your absolute best not to miss practices. Time to get serious and it is not fair to relay members if you are not here when we need to pull you to practice as there are no set days we will do this. It is going to get hot and hotter and yes we will still practice. Others have survived in the past and your child will too as long as they are hydrated. We will move start time to later to help miss some of the heat when that time comes. We need everyone at every practice working hard for the next level.
Relays – Relays will always be the 4 fastest on A and the next 4 fastest on B and can be changed at any time during the season. Relays can even be changed right up until Nationals. This happens when we are seeing how an athlete is going to do in an individual event. If they are in the top 4 and have not been on the relay due to having individuals to run… we can decide that they would be best utilized on a relay and would replace someone with a slower time because we feel they would have a better opportunity to make the podium at Nationals which is the end game. With that being said, the 4x1s we have been running are pretty much in tac both A and B teams.
Shockwave Meet in Cali – So far looks like all 4x1 relays are confirmed as going. I also want to run our best 4x4s & 4x800s if possible out there as well to get good times. IF YOU HAVE NOT LET ME KNOW IF YOU ARE GOING YET PLEASE DO SO ASAP!!! I NEED TO GET A HOTEL SECURED. Please complete the survey that was emailed. If you can’t go and you want to send your kids please let me know. If you want to ride with someone and share gas let me know. If you want to share a room with someone let me know. Maybe it’s not a trip for the whole family. These are all ways to save money for Regionals and Nationals.
Regionals – Please respond to the survey for Regionals. I need to know ASAP so we know about the bus and hotel. Same thing for the Cali meet….. DONATIONS – All donations are welcome. You can support a child travelling to Regionals and/or Nationals or you can support a relay travelling. The relays will for sure make the podium so your help to get them to All American status would be greatly appreciated. Let me know if I could be of help or if you have suggestions.
